I was at the MAHA 2010 the other day. The crowd at the fair was overwhelming.
There were a lot of things on display – livestocks, plants, herbs, new products and also variety of food stalls that sell all kinds of food.
Though there are a lot of things on display, only one particular plant caught my attention – the pitcher plant.
The pitcher is a carnivorous plant as it 'feeds' on inserts that it manage to lure into its trap. The plant has opening that 'lead' the insects into tube-like body and it has fluid in its 'belly' to drown the inserts that got stuck inside. But, the plant, looks innocently elegant.
Though the plant looks elegantly beautiful, poaching the plants from the natural habitat should be avoided. Go for the cultivated ones. The one in the wild should be left as it is for the plants to flourish and beautify the natural environment. If you happen to encounter some, admire the elegant plant standing proudly tall waiting for the unsuspecting victims. Take some photos and for a moment, be a botanist inspecting the anatomical structure of the plants. Nature never fails to excite and inspire people! Be excited and be inspired!
Well, the plant can also be a beautiful decoration set in your mini garden. In addition, it may help to reduce the pesky inserts (especially the mosquito) population. And at the very least, you can download the images as your screen wallpaper, free of charge! :~)
